Hi folks, I’m Melissa. I came to Amigos in July 2023 with my chihuahua friend Violeta, we were abandoned in Barra de Potosí and lucky for us the lovely team at Amigos took us in to clean us up and care for us.

When I arrived I was pretty stressed and didn’t want too much to do with the other dogs - or even the people! But now that I’m settling in more, I love it here. I have some new dog and cat friends and love getting attention from the volunteers, gosh they’re nice! They take me for a walk daily and I get to explore the area with them now that I’m getting used to those leash things!

While I love it here, I don’t want to get too comfortable as I really want to find my forever person and a place to really call home - could that be with you?
