Adriano has so much energy and be has a silly face with his big tongue always flopping out, just looking at him makes you laugh. He is very trusting and warms to new people really fast but can be a bit skittish in new situations (cars and horses), he just wants to sit on your lap even though he's far too big! He likes to play with the other dogs and gets the zoomies around the yard most days. He came to us with his sister Andrea and both are still available. He does still pull on the leash so needs some training in that area and he is strong so someone strong who can train him. He's very loving with other dogs and humans and will make a great pet.

America is a very special case. She came to us as a victim of a traumatic brain injury, most likely caused by a human. Because of this she is untrustworthy of people and can be unpredictable. She doesn’t seek affection or go for walks. However she has formed bonds with the other dogs in her pen and is happiest when playing with her best friend Livorio. She has recently started having seizures and thanks to our generous community she's responding well to medication. We're not sure what's next for her but would love to see her go to a home that is compassionate and can give her the support she needs.

Hi there, my name is Andrea! I came to Amigos with my brother Adriano some time ago, and while I love him and all the friends I’ve made here, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about moving in with someone new - might that be you? I’m an energetic gal and nothing makes me happier than a long walk or run exploring the outside world. I get a bit excited when it’s time to go out and know I need to work on not pulling the humans out the door when it’s time to take them for a walk. But don’t worry, my volunteer pals here have been working on my walking manners and I’m a quick learner - if I may say so myself 😉 While I can put on the independent act at first, really I want nothing more than to be close to my people and love a good cuddle once I’m comfortable. I get along well with other dogs (I’ve got 19 housemates so I know how to share my space!) that being said, I’d definitely prefer to be your top gal and might do better in a house with male dogs or as your only canine companion. But enough about me, fill in an adoption application and you can tell me all about yourself!

Hey guys✌🏼 I’m Benito. I’m about 8 months old. I came to Amigos about 6 months ago with my mom, Laura, and my siblings. Of course I love it here but I think it’s time I start looking at getting out of here and seeing more of the world! I’m a pretty chill guy, I wouldn’t say that I’m shy with other dogs, but I do love some “me-time” where I can relax in the shade after playing. I tend to stay away from dogs that intimidate me and you’ll never catch me joining in on a fight! On the leash I’m a good boy, the volunteers here have taught me well! I always walk right next to them and rarely pull - only sometimes when my brother and I walk together, because we get a bit excited about heading out to adventure together! I would love to find a forever home where love, quality time and play are part of every day. I wouldn’t mind living with other dogs, it’s always nice to have canine company, but what I’m looking for most is a nice human to hang with! Could you be the one for me? My friends are calling me to play, maybe fill in an adoption application and we’ll talk later! Benito 🐾

Hello world, it’s me, Berta! Your new best friend with a heart as golden as her coat 💛 I’m nearly one year old and have to say while I still have that fun puppy energy, I’m a little more reserved than my rough-and-tumble siblings. But that only means I’m the most affectionate of the pack 😌 And don't let my quiet demeanour fool you – I'm always up for a game, I just prefer to be a spectator when things get too silly. I still cheer my brothers and sisters on with my wagging tail and a big grin from the sidelines. I’m a good girl on leash and enjoy sniffing my way around the neighbourhood, forest or beach. As long as you’re by my side, anywhere is the best place for an adventure! If you're looking for a loyal friend who's the perfect blend of sweet and playful, look no further. Fill in an adoption application and we can hang out super soon!

Hey guys, I am Brenda! I'm a two-year-old, medium-sized doggo looking for a place to call home. I didn't particularly appreciate living on the streets, so I continued showing up at Amigos until they took me in. You may think I did that for food and safety, and while those were factors, I mainly wanted to be surrounded by kind people. People describe me as affectionate yet independent. I am very energetic but appreciate downtime; oh, and did I mention yet that I am a good girl on the leash? I'm super playful, but not every dog is my cup of tea (I'm sure you feel the same way about humans, too, right?) It's worth mentioning that I am considered the best stick carrier at the shelter! If you love hiking, running or other outdoor activities, you should hit me up so we can be adventure buddies and do this life thing together.

Hi there, I’m Cacha! I’m a pretty sweet little guy, full of energy and affection in equal measure! I may not be the first to run into a wrestle, but I don’t shy away when it’s playtime and I’m super friendly with both doggies and people. I love a good game, but if I’m being honest, cuddle time is my favourite! I’m pretty good on a leash too - most of the time… Sometimes I can be easily distracted by the wonders of the world (like lizards or interesting scents!) but I try to be a good boy and fall back to trot alongside you. A perfect day for me includes a good walk or outdoor adventure, followed by a tasty breakfast and some snoozy snuggle time - sound good to you? I arrived at Amigos with my brother Dolby and while we’d love to go to a home together, we know that not everybody has space for us both and we’ll be so happy for each other even if we go to separate forever families! Plus, I figure if I can write all of this then surely we can stay in touch as pen pals anyway! Well hello there! My name is Catalina, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I’m a sweet gal of about 3 years old. When I was a puppy, I had an accident that I don’t really remember that left me with a deformed back foot. Luckily shortly after that I was found by the amazing Amigos people and have lived here ever since! I don’t let my little foot get me down though, it’s only made me appreciate life at a slower pace which isn’t a bad thing! In fact, I’m the master of the “puppy eyes” and it always gets me what I want most - a snuggle and scratch from the humans here. I love to sidle up to the volunteers and look longingly into their eyes until they submit to giving a belly rub. I still get so excited to go for a walk, even if my foot stops me from going too far or too fast! I do little jumps and flips when I see the leash come out and hear my name being called. I’m so happy to go on a lap of the block to smell the flowers, meet other doggies and say hi to whoever else is out and about. When I get tired I give the signal (a sit-down and smile) to ask - is it home time? My perfect home? Well, I think that’d be with anyone not looking for a super active dog, but a sweet and snuggly companion to enjoy the simple things in life, like a cup of tea on the couch and maybe watching a nice rom-com together? If I sound like your cup of tea (see what I did there?!) fill out an adoption application and we could be lounging together soon ❤️

Hey, what’s up! I’m Elena! While my friends say I could be a model, I don’t really care about looks and am more of an athletic tom-boy type and would rather go for a run in the forest and fetch sticks than worry about my looks. I’ve got many doggo friends at Amigos and I’m generally pretty chill when hanging with the fellas. Sometimes I can snap a bit when other girls get in my face, that’s something I’m working on though - nobody is perfect, right? Call me selfish but after sharing my space for a while here I think I might fit in better to life as the only dog in the house. While I love a bit of action and adventure, under my tough girl exterior I am actually a real softie and love a cuddle. I really just want someone nice to spend my days hanging with. I love being around people and can’t wait to meet my forever person. Could that be you?

Hello! I’m Enrique 👋 I’ve been here at Amigos since I was a little pup and have grown up here, learned many things, and loved every minute. However, as some of my siblings and friends are getting adopted and going to their forevers, I find myself wanting to follow their pawprints and put myself out there too! I’m a curious little guy and am always trying to figure out the world around me. Observant by nature, I enjoy people-watching, even when things have nothing to do with me 🤭 I never turn down the chance to play with other doggos, although sometimes I forget I’m a bit smaller than my friends here and if playtime gets too rough I run to seek comfort from the volunteers for a calming cuddle! Really I love to be close to people, I can be a bit of a nervous noodle at first, but once I know I’m in good company I’m super affectionate and love all the attention! If you're seeking a snuggly buddy with beautiful green eyes eager to explore the world with you, I think I’m your guy!

Hey friend, I'm Gloria! I arrived at Amigos early in 2023 with my mom and siblings. While I adore my family, I believe it's time to find my own place—could it be with you? I'm boisterous in the best way, with playtime being my absolute favourite. You can usually find me playing tag and wrestling with my siblings, with breaks for the important stuff like naps and snacks! I'm pretty good on a leash, but like most pups, I could benefit from more training. My excitement for adventures sometimes makes me forget my manners momentarily, but don't worry—it's all in the spirit of adventure! Despite my playful antics, I'm also a big softie and ready for cuddle sessions anytime. Expect a cheeky lick or two when you least expect it - I can’t help myself and gotta show my affection somehow! If you're seeking a doggo friend who balances fun and snuggles, let's embark on this adventure called life together! Fill out an adoption application, and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Guero is the first dog we ever rescued! This means he has been waiting for his family for a VERY long time. He is so well behaved and never causes any problems. He likes to tag along on walking times in the morning but prefers to spend his days getting belly rubs while resting in the sun. He likes other dogs but generally spends his days laying in the shade in front of the shelter. He is happy on his own and is really just in need of some human companionship. He is so relaxed and easy going, happy to rest and get some pets and he doesn’t need much more than that. He is just a sweet kind hearted older gentleman looking for his home to finally retire in. NOTE: Guero has a problem with a recurring scar in his groin area. He is being treated but may need additional care after adoption. Please ask about this if you are interested in adopting him.

Hola hola! The name’s Hector - what’s yours? I’m just a young boy, although you wouldn’t believe it to look at me coz I’m bigger than half the adult dogs here, and I’ve still got big paws to grow into! 🐾 While I’m a big fella, I’m really a gentle giant. I adore playing with the older doggies here but am known to cry wolf a bit when they play a little rough for my liking. You could describe my personality as playful and curious, I’m always looking for something to do and any activity, you name it, I’m there! Going for a walk? I’ll race you to the door! Got a toy? I’d love a turn! Wanna hit the beach? I’m ready to dig for treasure! I'm currently being fostered by a really nice lady with horses and dogs and I'm learning to be a proper little gentleman dog. I think I’d fit in anywhere coz I’m pretty easygoing. So if you’re looking for a new best friend, I reckon I’m your guy!

Hola! My name is Isidro. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve been living at Amigos for a couple of years now. At around 5 years old, I’m a little older than some of my housemates here and sometimes find them a bit immature, so I think I’m ready to move in somewhere I can settle in and call home for the rest of my years. The volunteers at Amigos let me hang out in the house because I’m so well-behaved, and really I just like a cool place to have a lie down after a long day with the young’uns. I do like an extra snack if there’s one on offer (I mean, who doesn’t?!) but don’t be fooled, while I’m a bit of a larger gentleman, I still love a good walk or run, especially if it’s at the beach where I can dig for treasure or have a splash in the waves! That’s actually my happy place - surely you can relate? If you’ve read this far, maybe you’re also looking for someone new to spend time with. Could it be me?

Sup folks! My name is Juanito and I’m looking for a home filled with cuddles & belly rubs (my favorite things!) The volunteers here say I’m friendly and sweet, I do like to be a gentleman. The kind people here at Amigos rescued me after a pretty nasty injury. They saved me and brought me to a new home but I had to have my back leg amputated. Let’s be honest, walking with 3 legs can be a bit of a challenge so I do prefer shorter walks with plenty of breaks. Walking with friends can make it a bit easier for me so I would love a home with a brother or sister (just not too active, because then I might not be able to keep up!) It would be great to find a home that can make sure I have a good diet & an active lifestyle since I have put on some weight since getting here. I am always smiling and love making people laugh so if you’re looking for a bit of brightness in your days, why not fill out an adoption form?

Hola, nice to meet you! I am Karla. Let me tell you a little about myself, so you can determine if we could be the perfect match! I came to Amigos with my two puppies, Maya and Boris. They were super cute and found homes quickly, but I stayed behind. Knowing my babies are safe now, it is time to put myself out there to find a loving home. Not knowing love while I lived on the streets, I now want to make the most of all the cuddles I can get. I love the humans here, enjoy going on walks and am very polite on a leash unless there is a cat I can chase. While I'm usually mildly mannered, female dogs can trigger me, and I would prefer to be the only pet or share my space with a calm male dog. My grey snout shows that I am no longer a young pup, but I'm still very active and have no health issues. Whether my sweet personality, big ears, warm eyes or cute smile make you fall for me, please fill in an application.

Hey hey, I’m Kay! I'm a confident and social gal. At the shelter, you can usually find me playing with my besties, or napping close by them in the shade. So I think I’d be great in a house with other dogs, however with my very own forever human, I could totally be an only dog too - means I get you all to myself! I love a cuddle and belly scratch but I'm not needy or demanding. I’m happy to chill and do my own thing and wait for attention to come to me. I’m usually pretty polite on leash, but if the other dogs I’m walking with get excited about something you can bet your bottom dollar I’m joining in! I’m working on that I promise but sometimes the FOMO is real! 🙈 Anyway, nobody is perfect, but I like to think I’m getting pretty close 😌 If you (or your dog) are looking for a new best friend, I think it could be me - so what do you say, wanna fill in an adoption application?

Hey friend, I’m Laura, it’s so nice to meet you! I arrived at Amigos some months ago with my babies, but they’re 8 months old now so are grown up and raising themselves, so I figure it’s time for me to look for a place to settle down and call home. I’m about 2 years old, so am no longer a puppy but still young at heart! If I had to describe myself in three words I’d say I’m affectionate, gentle and sweet. I guess I’m cheating there a bit because these are the words I hear the volunteers use when they talk about me 😇 I’m still pretty playful and am just learning how fun those tennis ball things are - woah what a rush chasing one of them! I’m so happy when I’m around the humans, and you’ll usually find me relaxing somewhere close by to them. After some time living inside the volunteer house recuperating after a little injury, I’ve learned how to behave in the house, and geez this “housetraining” thing is easy - who wants to pee inside anyway? Anyway, if you’re looking for a fun, loving gal to join you on this adventure we call life, maybe fill in an adoption application and I’ll see you soon!

Greetings friend! The name is Lee. I’m nearly 2 years old, and a generally laidback kind of guy. I’m rarely involved in any scuffles or silly business here! I don’t mind a good run around or playtime, but I mostly tend to keep to myself and prefer to hang out in the shade and watch the other dogs get themselves into trouble. And being the gentleman I am, you won’t find me pulling when we’re out walking, no ma’am! While I don’t like to admit this, I sometimes get a bit nervous when I see new dogs or we take a new route out walking, but with you by my side, I know I can do anything, I just need some encouragement before tackling the unfamiliar! Occasionally I can get a bit grumbly if others try to share my food, but hey, every gentleman has his quirks, right? So if you’re after a cool, calm and collected doggo in your life, maybe get in touch via adoption application and we can hang out soon?

It’s not like I don’t like people - quite the opposite actually - but having been hurt in the past, I just want to make sure I can trust you first. Since I moved to Amigos, I have opened up and made so many friends, but sometimes the past creeps up on me and I get scared, especially by new men. Being a true Hot Dog Connoisseur, special treats are the way to my heart. The volunteers say I’m the perfect large dog on small legs and I would have to agree. They also like how I wrap my body around them and boop them with my nose when asking for attention. My ideal home would be somewhere with nice ladies that are happy to work with me through scary moments and enjoy cuddles and quality time. I like the other dogs I live with and wouldn’t mind some four-legged siblings in my future home. In case you know someone that sounds like we would make a good team, please share this with them and let them fill out the application form! Thanks, Liborio

Hi there, my name is Lucia!🐕‍🦺 I am celebrating my first birthday this month. While I would love some new toys, I only wish to celebrate my following birthdays in my forever home. What should that home look like, you are asking? To be honest, I am open to anything. It might be best to not live with young children as I am pretty large and could accidentally knock them over when getting excited. Having a dog buddy to play with, on the other hand, sounds incredible. But as long as my new people keep my cheeky mind occupied, being the only furry child works for me. As much as I love to exercise, I also love attention. We could adventure during the day and cuddle on the sofa in the evening. You tell me your stories, and I tilt my head listening. The volunteers here tell me I am intelligent, so I try to prove them right by not pulling on my leash. I'm still young and need training, but being a shepherd mix, I learn quickly and am eager to please. I hope to hear from you!

Hey hey hey! I’m Luna! That's me in the photo, I look a bit like a tiger huh? And I've decided it's time this little tiger started looking for her forever family! I’m about 6 months old and came to Amigos a few months back with my two brothers when we were really little. Unfortunately, I lost them both when we had the horrible Parvovirus outbreak 💔 But I managed to fight off the evil virus and am now gonna live my life to the fullest to honour my little brothers. I love to play and can wrestle as well as any of the big doggos here - don’t let them tell you they can’t be beaten by a puppy! So safe to say I’m a lively gal and need a good walk and play daily to burn a bit of my energy off so I don’t use it to get into trouble! When I'm not playing, I’m happiest when having a good snuggle. Even though I’m getting bigger now, I still love it when the volunteers pick me up or let me curl up in their lap for a cuddle. I share my space here with other puppies and adult dogs and we all get along great, so I would happily live somewhere with other dogs - as long as they also like to play! So if you’ve got a place in your home for a playful little gal, fill in an adoption application and I'll be snuggling in your arms in no time!

Hello friends! I’m Malu 👋 I'm a sweet girl who found my way to Amigos alongside my three sisters in 2022 when we were just young pups. Since then I’ve grown into quite the adventurer! Sometimes when the volunteers are out walking the other dogs I join them off-leash and bound alongside them, always making sure to stay close by. And I’m always sure to be back in time for the important stuff - like breakfast and cuddles with the volunteers! When I’m not running free range, I walk really well on leash and regularly peep over my shoulder to check that you’re keeping pace. Around the shelter, you can find me chilling in the shade during lazy afternoons, observing the silly antics of my friends. While I enjoy a good play, I'm all about the good vibes—none of that rough stuff for me! And while you won’t catch me fighting with other dogs, I’m a fighter in my own right! A while back, I had an encounter with an icky, dangerous spider 🕷️ But guess what? Thanks to the amazing vets and the folks at Amigos, I got all fixed up and came out on top. Take that, spider! What’s up people! I’m Marcos - it’s good to meet you! I arrived at Amigos a couple of months back. You might have seen my story on social media? One of the volunteers was out walking and found a cardboard box on the side of the road all tied up with a little puppy inside, and that puppy was me! I’m so grateful that they found me, it was pretty scary being in that little box and I don’t know what would have happened if they didn’t find me and take me in!

Now I’m having the time of my life, running around playing with the other puppies here and getting daily walks and cuddles with the volunteers! I’m still a puppy and still growing bigger, which is making this place feel smaller. So although I might miss the volunteers and all my doggie friends here, I think I’m ready to pack my bags and find myself one of these “forever homes” I’ve heard so much about! Hola! My name is Martina, although sometimes the volunteers at Amigos call me Martini because I’m a fancy lady. If you don’t fall for my beautiful blue eyes I think my loving, funny and independent personality should do the trick! I’m a very sweet lady who loves cuddles and human attention, although I’m a bit more picky when choosing canine friends, but who needs dogs when you’ve got humans - right?! All you have to do is say my name to get my tail wagging, and I love nothing more than having a good cuddle or getting belly scratches. I arrived at Amigos a few years ago ready to give birth to my beautiful puppies who all quickly found homes. However, shortly after giving birth, the veterinarian discovered that I had TVT Cancer. Luckily, with the help of my friends at Amigos, I was treated and have made a full recovery. On the leash, I’ll trot alongside you and usually never pull, only backwards sometimes, when I decide it’s time to go home, or sometimes if there’s a new dog (or chicken) I’d like to meet. I would love to find a loving forever home where I receive lots of attention and care. I would prefer not having to share my space, treats or cuddles, but I can learn to adapt as I often have to share the house at Amigos with other dogs when they’re invited inside and I happily let it slide as long as I still get my fair share attention from the humans! I’m energetic and playful and love nothing more than to run around with my friends, canine or human, it doesn’t matter to me as long as they’re ready to play! I’m a social boy and get along well with other dogs, especially those who can keep up with my boisterous energy! On leash I’m usually pretty good but can be easily distracted when something exciting like a lizard goes by! But I quickly regain my cool, I promise... 🦎😁 After a day of play, I transform into a snuggle monster, using my sweet puppy eyes to charm my way into getting all the belly rubs and cuddles my little heart desires. Hi folks, I’m Melissa. I came to Amigos in July with my chihuahua friend Violeta, we were abandoned in Barra de Potosí and lucky for us the lovely team at Amigos took us in to clean us up and care for us. When I arrived I was pretty stressed and didn’t want too much to do with the other dogs - or even the people! But now that I’m settling in more, I love it here. I have some new dog and cat friends and love getting attention from the volunteers, gosh they’re nice! They take me for a walk daily and I get to explore the area with them now that I’m getting used to those leash things! While I love it here, I don’t want to get too comfortable as I really want to find my forever person and a place to really call home - could that be with you?

Hi there, my name is Mica! I’m super excited to introduce myself because I love making new friends! The volunteers say I’m almost human-like in my emotions and expressions. I don’t know about that, but I do like to make sure my feelings on any matter are clearly conveyed. I’m known for sneaking my way into a snuggle whenever I can and I’m not too shy to tap you on the hand to remind you what I’m after 😇 I’d do best with a person or family as affectionate as me because I really wear my heart on my sleeve and have a lot of love to give - so I'm hoping you’re the same! I also have many doggo friends here and definitely get along well with others, but I prefer to spend my time with the humans. Honestly, nothing beats a cuddle and a belly rub from my favourite people. Oh, my special cow belly you ask? Aside from my smokey eye makeup, that’s my best feature, and it’s softer than velvet - just like my ears 🙊 In my free time, I like chewing on coconuts when they fall out of the trees here - it’s like it’s raining chew toys! So I’d love a home with plenty of toys so I don’t swap my usual coconuts for your slippers! If you’re looking for a super affectionate and cheeky girl, your search stops here - fill out an adoption application today and see for yourself just how soft my ears are!

Hey friends! My name is Nicola. That's me there in the photo, pretty handsome right?! I know it looks a bit like I ate a bee, but my lips are all natural and all the better to smooch you with! I think I might even be the best kisser here at Amigos! I’ve been living at the shelter for a few years now and man they’ve been good to me! I have this thing with my back legs, the humans call it hip dysplasia, but I just call it a pain in the butt! I used to love going for runs and jumping around at the beach, but I know that too much activity isn’t good for my hips anymore. That being said, I’m well-mannered on leash and still love a daily stroll to get out of the house. I get along really well with all the dogs here and you won’t find me joining in any scuffles, but I really don’t mix well with the feline crowd and wouldn’t be suited to a house with cats. Also not a cat lover? Hit me up via the adoption button for feline-free hangs and gentle strolls about town! (PS: Swipe to see me and my siblings on the day we arrived here at Amigos. They have all been adopted to loving homes, they tell me it will be worth the wait!)

Hello there! My name is Ortencia 👋 I’m super excited to start the hunt for my forever home! A few months ago I contracted the nasty Parvovirus but I’m lucky I was strong enough to survive and share my story! After that health scare, I'm on a mission to live my life to the fullest! I’m always excited to go for a walk and love snuggles with the humans and playtime with my puppy friends here at the shelter. I don’t pull on leash and all the humans here say I’m a great walking companion because I’m always peeping over my shoulder to ensure we’re in sync - I mean the whole point is spending time together, right? Now, about my doggie friends – I'm a social butterfly, but sometimes my excitement gets the best of me, especially with smaller pups. So, if you've got a big buddy who's up for some rough-and-tumble fun, we'll make the perfect team! Anyway, enough about me, I want to hear all about you! Fill in an adoption application and we can share stories and create so many new ones together!

‘Sup guys! I’m Palmer, but you can call me your new best friend! While I’m not a large dog, what I lack in size I make up for in personality! You’ll quickly learn that my playful energy is just as infectious as my giant smile. Adventures? Count me in! A walk to explore the neighbourhood, a hike in the great outdoors, a run in the park, whatever you’re into - I’m there! I love a cuddle and get so excited when the volunteers here come to spend time with me. Trust me, I know how to turn the charm on to get some belly rubs and affection. In terms of my social preferences.. while I love playing with other dogs, they don’t always love playing with me! I really just want to have fun but sometimes in all the excitement I can play a bit rough and get myself into trouble. So I think I might be best suited to being the only dog in the house - but that just means more bonding time for you and me, right?! I promise if you fill in an adoption application, I’ll bring fun, laughs and a whole lot of love into your life. So what do you say?

Hola amigos! Nice to meet you, my name is Ramon! I’m a little tiger-striped boy full of energy and love to give! As a smaller-sized boy, I usually live with the puppies here at the shelter and we always have the most fun playing, walking and snoozing together. So it's safe to say I get along with other dogs well and am happy sharing my space - and toys! On leash I’m great solo, and when walking with a canine buddy I tend to mirror whatever they’re doing.. if they’re well-mannered, well me too! If they want to be a little silly, who am I to say no?! 🤪 But above all, I’m just a gentle little guy eager to find my human companion. Could that be you? Fill in an adoption application and get ready for endless adventures with your very own tiny tiger bestie by your side!

Hello reader, I’m Raquel! I’m a sweet and goofy girl looking for my forever home. I’m usually calm and laidback but take a little time to warm up to new people and I can be a bit vocal when I’m nervous. However, once I’m comfortable with someone, they’ve got a friend for life, and I’ve got a lot of love to give! I get along super well with other doggies and have a little girl gang here at the shelter that I love spending my days with. I walk well on leash but sometimes get a bit nervous about exploring new places and need a bit of encouragement or better yet, a canine walking partner to show me that it’s okay! I’d do best in a house that already has some dogs so I have some friends to help me build my confidence. A fun fact about me? I’m missing my front teeth! I don’t really remember why, but it doesn’t really impact me. I can still eat and drink like any other doggo. And it means for me the saying “my bark is worse than my bite” is really true! Are you wanting to add a new girly to your pack? Fill in an adoption application today and we can hang out super soon!

Hiya, my name is Reina. In February ’23 I became the proud mother to ten wonderful puppies. I’m still a little tired after raising my kids, (gosh they ask for a lot don’t they?) but now they’re getting a bit older they don’t need me as much and I’m quietly a bit excited that they will be ready to fly the coop soon and am ready to hopefully do the same myself! I’m a sweet gal with excellent manners, especially on leash, I only know this because the volunteers here are always complimenting me on this! My favourite thing at the moment is a quiet walk in the woods, followed by breakfast and a quiet (read: puppy-free) snooze in the shade. My ideal home, you ask? Well, yours of course! I really get along with everyone I’ve met so far and can’t wait to meet you!

Hello reader, I’m Rico! At Amigos I'm known for mostly keeping to myself and out of trouble. I love lounging in the shade, observing what the humans and other dogs are doing with their days. I never push to the front of the queue for anything but I love a cuddle or a walk when it’s my turn. And just between us, nothing makes me feel more special than when I'm chosen first! I’m a people pleaser and have learned that my volunteer friends like it when I stand with my front feet on a chair to help them get my harness on. I can get a bit excited once out of the house but always want to keep the humans happy so don’t pull much after the first minutes. It takes a lot for me to get angry, and I don’t usually react even if provoked but sometimes a yappy, snappy chihuahua interrupting my walk can get on my last nerve. What do I picture when I think of my forever family? A loving home where I'm always chosen first for an outing or a cuddle. Sound like your place? Fill out an adoption application today!

Hi, I'm Roberta. I am writing to find my future-best friend. I don't mind who you are; I love all humans! You could be one person or a big family, younger or older; as long as you love me, I will love you right back! I'm a big, strong goofball and sometimes forget about my size. My hobbies include long walks, cuddles and pretty much whatever makes you happy! My current neighbours are 130 cats, which I don't mind having around. I could see myself living with cats in the future, as long as you don't have quite as many. Some female dogs here get on my nerves, so I prefer hanging out with the boys or the puppies. The adoption button is just below so that you can get in touch with me!

Hi! I'm Rosalinda 👋 I'm about 1 year old now but have been at Amigos since I was a baby. They took me in and bottle-fed me at only a few days old. I was found without my mum and lost my siblings, but being a little fighter, I grew into a beautiful girl! Since the amigo team saved my life, I like to thank them with extra cuddles, kisses and affection! (Swipe to see my journey) I like to get to know other dogs and people first, but once confirmed they are nice, my fun and sweet personality comes through and I might even play! The volunteers love my freckles and I am the only ginger pup of the pack. Oh, my eye you are asking? No idea what happened, I must have been too young to remember. But the other eye works perfectly fine, I don't need special care and I can navigate the world just like any other dog. While I like other dogs, I don't like sharing my food with them, so in my dream home, I would like to be the only princess or share with cats like I used to.

Hey folks! I’m Sara. I live here at Amigos with four of my siblings, we’ve been here since early 2022 when we arrived as little pups. I’m a tad shy around some of the dogs here - especially the big ones who love to play rough! But don't let that fool you, I've got my playful moments and love to indulge in an occasional zoomie run! My favourite thing though? Spending time with humans! I find it so comforting being around people and sometimes, I even try to be a lap dog (even if I'm a smidge too big for it!). Walking with me is super easy, I’m a good girl on leash and rarely pull. Sometimes I get carried away and pull when everyone else does, but hey, a girl's got to have some fun, right? 🤭 If you’re looking for a sweet and slightly silly girl to spend your days with, I’ll be here waiting for your adoption application ❤️

Hey friend! My name is Sol ☀️ My name literally means sun - because I’m like a little ray of sunshine! Not just because of my golden fur, but I also overhear the volunteers saying I’m super sweet, plus I know I give a good cuddle! A few months ago I was dumped outside the shelter as a little puppy and thankfully was immediately scooped up by a lovely volunteer who spotted me hiding in the bushes. Then I was lucky enough to go and live with some lovely fosters in Zihuatanejo for a few months. There I lived with three other puppies and a couple of adult dogs, so I learned how to get along with other dogs of all ages which helped me integrate really nicely into the shelter when I came back! Here at the shelter, I run and play with the other puppies all day long and love love love it. But with fond memories of my foster family, I think I’d like to find myself a real home now where I can stay and play forever! Looking for a little golden girl to spend your time with? Fill in an adoption application and I’ll come and brighten all your days soon! 💛

Hiya! My name is Valentino, what’s yours? I’m a gentleman of about 6 or 7 years old, but what does age matter, you’re as young as you feel, right? Here at the shelter, I take my self-appointed role as the guardian of all things Amigos quite seriously. You'll often find me lounging by the front fence, ensuring that no trouble lurks beyond the walls that needs my watchful eye or a warning bark. But I’m not just a protective boy, I’m also one of the most affectionate fellas around. Often seeking attention when people are around and have a soft spot for a good butt scratch – my absolute fave! I’m the best boy on leash and will trot right alongside you at all times. Even off leash, I stay close, ensuring we share quality time while getting in our exercise. I do have some quirks – like not being the biggest fan of motorbikes (why are they so loud?!), so I might let out a bark or two if they go by too quickly. But that’s just my way of keeping us both safe on the road. I’m looking forward to finding a forever home full of love where I can continue my work keeping my favourite people safe. If you’d like to be one of those people, fill in an adoption application and we can get acquainted real soon!

HELLO! I’m Violeta! Sorry for shouting, just making sure you heard me from all the way down here, coz even for a chihuahua I’m pretty small! I came to Amigos in July with my friend Melissa after we were found abandoned nearby in Barra de Potosí. Luckily the lovely folks at Amigos found us and took us in to get us cleaned up and they are kindly taking care of us now. As is the way of the chihuahua I’m confident but can be a little skittish. I love running around the ankles of the volunteers until they come down to my level to give me scratches but being this cute it’s not that hard to get their attention! They say I’ve got this thing called “cherry eye”, I know the name sounds cute but actually it’s a bit of a nuisance. For now it’s not a big deal but I think in the future a quick surgery would make me more comfortable. Recently I’ve been learning to trot alongside the humans on leash and I really like going for little adventures in the jungle - or really anywhere! Are you looking for a pocket sized princess to hang with? I reckon I’m your gal! Hit the adoption application button and let’s hang out!
